Golden Firefly

Golden Firefly is a delightfully creative and supportive community of seniors. Their bravery in being vulnerable and sharing personal stories with others is truly inspiring.

At our recent storytelling showcase, a guest who happened to attend the event was so moved by what he experienced that he asked if he could share his own story on the spot - and he did so beautifully. Even more wonderfully, he’s now a part of the Golden Firefly community!

This is just one of the many deeply magical moments that make Golden Firefly such a profoundly rewarding experience.

Golden Firefly is an applied theatre program at Presentation House Theatre where a group of seniors explores creativity through theatrical tools and storytelling in safe and fun environments.

Land Acknowledgement

The North Shore Community Foundation humbly recognizes that we operate on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Squamish Nation (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw) and Tsleil-Waututh Nation (səlilwətaɬ).  We pay our respects and extend our gratitude to the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded these lands through generations. We are dedicated to creating community impact and nurturing relationships that contribute to meaningful Reconciliation.

We pledge to collaborate with Indigenous communities to build a future that honours and commemorates their history, culture, and contributions. Our initiatives are designed to create a lasting influence that fosters Reconciliation and fortifies the ties within our collective community.
