Colin Parker is the 2011 winner of the Judy Dennis Emerging Artist Award.  This award is granted annually by the North Shore Community Foundation.  The award will assist Colin with ongoing studies in jazz drumset under the supervision of Vancouver-based teacher, Bernie Arai.  He will also study jazz piano with Sharon Minemoto.

Colin resides on the North Shore and has been playing and studying drumset for ten years.  For the past four years he has attended the Vancouver Community College’s Applied Music Program, studying under Bernie Arai and Craig Scott.

The Judy Dennis Emerging Artist Award is intended to assist emerging North Shore artists in the development of specific skills in their chosen arts discipline.
