Marie Pearce (Founder's) Fund was established in 1989. Marie Pearce was the Foundation's first president and one of the key driving forces in the establishment of the Foundation. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The fund is a general-purpose fund and the income can be directed to all segments of community needs. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

The Seanna and Nicole Strongman Memorial Awards Fund will provide a $2,000 award to two graduating students from each of the North Vancouver senior secondary schools. Award winners will be chosen because of their "all-round" achievements in citizenship, leadership, arts and culture, athletics, and academic pursuits. A total of fourteen awards will be made in June of each year, and students will be selected by the faculty of their respective schools.

The Trevor Cabeldu Fund for Children was established in 1995 by Trevor Cabeldu. Trevor was one of the Foundation’s early directors and was the secretary of the Foundation for a number of years. The purpose of the fund is to support projects that will enhance the lives of children in need. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

Rotary Club of North Vancouver Charitable Fund. This fund was established in 1993 by the Rotary Club of North Vancouver. The Club advises the Foundation annually on the distribution of the income of the fund. Donations can be made to the fund by anyone.

North Shore Union Board of Health Legacy Fund was established when the health region was dissolved in a provincial government reorganization in 1998. The purpose of the fund is to support the promotion of community health needs on the North Shore. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually. The fund can accept donations from all sources.

Together Against Violence Legacy Fund was established in 2005 by the District of North Vancouver with the residual funds from the Together Against Violence Network. The purpose of the fund is to provide funding for activities which are designed to reduce the incidence of violent behaviour in all parts of our community. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

Sheila Jones Seniors' Fund was established in 2004 in honour of Sheila Jones, a person who spent a significant part of her life as a volunteer and community worker. The purpose of the fund is to support seniors’ activity within the jurisdiction of the Foundation. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually

Olga Kempo Woman's Fund was established in 1990 The purpose of the fund is to support projects specifically focused on meeting women’s needs in the community, in ways that will help attain social, educational, recreational and cultural equality for women. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

Judy Dennis Emerging Artists Training Fund. Established by a legacy from Judy Dennis in 1994, the fund is to assist emerging artists with funding for ongoing training. The granting is adjudicated by the Foundation's Grants Committee. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

District of North Vancouver Centennial Heritage Fund. The District of North Vancouver celebrated its centennial in 1991. This fund was created in 1992 to support heritage activities in the District of North Vancouver. The fund can accept donations from all sources. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

Colin Jones Memorial Fund, established in 2006 with a initial donation of $50,000, to recognize ESL students going on to post-secondary education. The initial donor said the Fund was in recognition of Colin’s great sympathy for ESL students and the challenges they faced in their lives learning a new language in a new culture. Colin taught at Handsworth and Balmoral before teaching English for 17 years at Carson Graham Secondary School. The Board of Directors distributes the income from this fund annually.

Youth Centennial Scholarship was established in 2008 as a legacy from the City of North Vancouver's Centennial Celebration. The program provides annual scholarships to youth who have demonstrated outstanding community service and financial need, and who are pursuing post-secondary education. The Majors’ Community Trust Fund established in 2008.Each year the Mayors’ Golf Tournament will contribute a minimum of fifty percent of the net proceeds to the Mayors’ Community Trust Fund. Every year, income from the Mayors’ Community Trust Fund will be spent to support projects which primarily expand the communities’ capacity to deal with various social and environmental issues as they emerge in the community.

Ward Animal Shelter Fund, established in 2006 with a willed donation of $355,000.Each year, over the next 25 years, 1/25 of the principal and the earned income will be disbursed annually.The total amount is expected to exceed $500,000. The Wards had a great love for animals, particularly cats, and wanted to help provide assistance to domestic pets in need on the North Shore. Dennis& Valerie Ward were long time residents of North Vancouver and have historically supported the North Shore Animal Shelter with their generosity |
ENDOWMENT FUNDS

Fund for Arts on the North Shore (FANS). Established in 1995 by the Arts and Culture Commission of North Vancouver, the annual income is distributed by the FANS Society for the general advancement of the arts on the North Shore. The fund can accept donations from all sources.

North Vancouver Minor Hockey Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 by the North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association to provide scholarships to encourage skilled hockey players to continue their education after high school. The fund can accept donations from all sources. Scholarships are awarded annually at the discretion of the Association.

North Vancouver Museum and Archives Endowment Fund. The fund was established in 1993 by the Friends of the North Vancouver Museum Society. The income is used to support programs of the North Vancouver Museum which has now expanded to include the Archives. The fund can accept donations from all sources.

NVCAC Youth Cultural Development Fund was established in 1993 by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council. The income is used by the Arts Council as a development fund for individual or group cultural projects produced by youth. The fund can accept donations from all sources.

North Vancouver District Public Library Endowment Fund was established by the Library in 2000. The income is used to enhance library services in the District of North Vancouver. The fund can accept donations from all sources.

North Shore Neighbourhood House Endowment Fund was established in 2008 when a committed local supporter pledged two generous gifts the North Shore Neighbourhood House, to provide sustainable income to support the critical social programs that benefit seniors, families, kids and youth on the North Shore. The fund can accept donations from all sources.

Administration Fund was established in 1997 by the Foundation to provide an ongoing stable source of funding for the administration of the Foundation. The income from the fund is used to support the administration of the Foundation and for the development of new programs. The fund can accept donations from all sources. |
